The sessions are organised around the child's age, needs and language background. School information may be included when relevant and with the necessary arrangements.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take?

It depends on the question and the tests needed. After the interview, we explain the proposed sessions, report and feedback appointment, together with the fees.

Can it be done online?

Some interviews or meetings can take place remotely. Tests are carried out in the conditions they require to be interpreted properly; certain assessments require in-person appointments.

What are the steps?

A first interview about the concern and developmental history; testing suited to age, language and the question; bringing the results together with everyday functioning; and a feedback session with a report.

How do we prepare our child?

Simply explain that they will do different activities with the professional and that it is not an exam to pass or fail. If they wear glasses or hearing aids, bring them, and tell us beforehand about any medication or recent change.

Can it be used to request support at school?

The report sets out the clinical conclusions and suggests possible support. School adjustments and official recognition follow each institution’s own procedures.

Do you assess giftedness?

Yes, you can ask about cognitive abilities or high ability. Testing is tailored to that question and the results are interpreted alongside everyday functioning.

Our child is bilingual. Does that matter?

Yes, which is why we take it into account. We agree the language of the sessions and the report before starting, and consider the child’s language history and the conditions of the available tools.

What if we suspect autism?

There is a dedicated autism assessment process with Lourdes Abarca Fernández, combining developmental history, interviews, observation and specific instruments.

Do you coordinate with the school?

When it is relevant, we coordinate care with the family, the school or other professionals, such as psychiatry or medicine. We agree what information is needed and how to share it, respecting confidentiality and the applicable requirements.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the question and the tests needed. After the first interview we explain the proposed sessions, report and feedback, together with the fee, before anything starts.
