Frequently asked questions

Can it prevent or stop cognitive decline?

It cannot be guaranteed that intervention will prevent or stop decline. Goals are agreed according to the clinical situation and the person's needs.

Is stimulation the same as rehabilitation?

They are related approaches, but not identical. The proposal depends on the assessment and on whether specific support, compensation or activities aimed at particular abilities are needed.

What is worked on?

Memory strategies, organising tasks, managing routines and other relevant skills. Depending on the case, the aim is to train an ability, compensate for a difficulty or adapt the environment to support independence.

Do I need an assessment first?

The plan starts from an assessment of the situation. If you do not have a recent one, we explain whether it is advisable before setting goals.

How does it carry over into daily life?

Activities are linked to concrete situations, such as planning a day, remembering appointments or following the steps of a task. The plan is reviewed as things progress.

Is the family involved?

When it helps, yes: external aids and guidance for relatives or carers are included, so strategies also work outside sessions.

Are computer programs used?

Materials are chosen according to the goals. Digital tools, when used, are part of a plan guided by the professional; they do not replace the work done in sessions.

Do you coordinate with neurology?

When there is a neurological condition or other clinical needs, we coordinate goals with the professionals involved. The work stays within the scope of the practice’s outpatient care.
